A bit about me.... Hi, I'm Siobhan....

edited for bookings page

My Background

Originally from Manchester,  now based in Bromley, South London.

I trained as a dancer and worked as a professional contemporary dancer, choreographer and teacher for nearly 20 years. Dance was my passion and I loved my job. I understand the highs/lows and  pressures of competitive fields where you push yourself to your limit.

I bring experience from my time as a dance artist and dance lecturer, having specialised in working with vulnerable young people with complex needs and challenging behaviour from marginalised and disadvantaged sectors of society. Such as: young offenders, refugees, care leavers, young carers, excluded young people, grooming victims, abuse survivors and a wide range of SEN and neurodivergence

I know how it feels to take the plunge and re-train, having had a major career change, and I can support those embarking on that journey. Also, as a Mum, I understand the pressures and juggling of parenting.

My personal experience of inter-cultural relationships and my professional experience of working within Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority Communities means I'm confident in offering an authentic anti-racist approach. I do not shy away from working with clients around challenging issues of race and the difficulties of conflicting cultural or religious identities.

My Ethos

I decided to train to become a counsellor and
psychotherapist because I have always been drawn to
helping others and offering emotional support to anyone in need, ever since I was a child.

I fundamentally believe in the good of humankind and that with the right support, understanding, empathy and love we can all flourish, thrive and reach our potential.

I don’t diagnose, I don’t label, I work from a holistic perspective.

I am interested in the whole of you and in offering what you need to feel met in relationship.

I am passionate about the pursuit of a more equal society where all people can feel safe to live, strive and achieve without fear of abuse or discrimination. I offer an anti-oppressive, anti-discriminatory practice in line with the BACP and UKCP Code of Ethics and my personal values.

I welcome all people of all backgrounds, nationalities, racial, religious, cultural, gender and sexual orientation identities.

I don’t have the answers, the person who knows you the best is you!

I am here to help you to join some dots, unravel some blocked or buried issues. Through increasing your awareness, you can begin to work through whatever is holding you back, empowering you to move forward into a brighter future.
